Have your say
This week I am really excited to announce the first article in our guest contributor spot. This week we have a poem written by Marissa Jayne Wolfe
“Transgender”
She closes her eyes to hear the baby cry
Some things are too difficult to face.
While she wishes for a child
All she has are dreams to embrace.
Trapped in this cell
praying for daylight to come one day.
No way out of these thoughts
even wishing her feelings away.
For what is a girl to do?
When she faces losing all
If she chooses to follow her heart
And display it on the wall.
Instead of keeping peace
Holding it all inside.
If she keeps this secret
A part of her will have died.
She cries and prays and begs for God
to take her pain away
But God says no and she stays trapped
as a male for another day.
Thank you for your support, see you next week
Love and Hugs

It is difficult to be who we really are. It started for me when I was four when my mother told me I couldn’t act the way I was acting because I was going to grow up to be a man not a woman. She instructed my dad to teach me how to be a man. These lessons and coversations continued until I was 11 when my mother developed cancer. I had trouble even admitting it to myself in later years. I had a secret pain. A pain I couldn’t even share. I began cross dressing when I was 13 in private. I didn’t go out in public until 1987 in my mid 30s. Then it was only in the back of a car. I later made contact with the now defunct TSG in Atlanta in 1979. I went to several functions fully dressed. It was during all of this I met my X wife. She didn’t seem to mind that I was transgender as she had some gender issues too. We reversed roles she was corporate vp and I stayed home cooked and watched the children. She wouldn’t let me dress. I had to wait until we separated almost two years ago. I have been taking hormones since my diagnosis of GID in September 2007. It has been a rough road especially seeing as my oldest son doesn’t approve of me. There are many who don’t approve and as has been said you have not care what others say. It is fulfilling these days especially with my ability to create original fashions. I can wear new cutting edge fashion runway ready that no one else has seen yet.
As a woman who is a 51 year old MtF transsexual who has been stealth all of her life, your poem touched my heart deeply and made cry. It seems to be reflect my heart. Thank you.
